We have lived at Riviera for over one year. We chose Riviera because it's a great family friendly compound, close to WAB and very easy access to airport expressway at
Beigao toll, also 2 subway stops close by. It's well established with experienced management office, few communication difficulties there. Security staff at the gates
and around the compound.
We lived in Beijing Riviera for 2 years and had a great time here. We have 3 kids and they always enjoyed playing with friends around. It is a very safe place, just
maybe cars sometimes go a bit fast inside the compound. For us, after knowing many of the other compounds where we had friends, we concluded that Beijing Riviera is
the best of all. The only issue may be that the utility costs are significantly higher than the other expat communities in Beijing.
Be very careful in your choice of house - individual houses - styles and finishings vary greatly, there are a large number operated by 'Maple Place' and then there are
individual landlords. Do consider choosing a house with upgraded heating and double glazing, this is not standard and would highly recommend for Beijing winters. Even
maintenance workers have warned us to watch the use of the old 'hot air' heating in our house as it is so expensive to run.
We love Beijing Riviera! Apart from what most people say about this compound, one of the best things we feel is that the streets are very wide, other compounds are
very narrow and makes it dangerous and complicated for parking. As per the community we made many friends and had a good time. Everyone was very respectful and our
kids love the place.
Park Avenue has been up to our expectations, a German family. Not everything is great, but it delivers if you are looking for a reliable, comfortable, child-friendly
compound not too far from city center. Quality of building is good for Chinese standards. Management service is fine. Nice inner compound with kids playground. April
Gourmet is right outside the compound, which is a huge plus.
